Hippopotamomus

I come from the jungle
From Popocatepetl
Chief of the clan
Hippopotamomae
But when the filthy great volcano
Wiped out my fellow hippos
I was the only individual to survive

Hip-hip-hip Hippopotamomus
Pop-pop-pop Popocatepetl

We rolled in mud
Deep in the bed of the river
Were monster fat
And loved only disgusting things
We rummaged about for truffles
Then shat them out in the forest
By the fabulous tombs of Aztec kings

One day as I lay humping under Popocatepetl
The volcano started pumping down hot liquid metal
A flood of steaming lava erupted like Pompeii
And stuck me forever to the hippo I was fucking that day

Then a team of boring scientists shoved us in a crate
Packed it up with straw and then conveyed me and my mate
To the Museum of Natural History, where between two stuffed camels
They stuck us in this case labelled 'Copulating Artiodactyl Mammals'

So press your nose against the glass of the case of the Hippopotamomus
Lithe, wriggling schoolgirl, blowing kisses, making eyes
So blithely unaware, as you snigger at my lust
You'll be in this position by and by

I Ate A Girl Right Up

I ate a girl right up, forgive me
I don't know what to say or what came over me
It wasn't just because I was hungry
I don't think I'm sorry

I ate a girl right up, forgive me
I ate her pretty head and body
I guzzled down her bowels, all squidgy
I gobbled up her breasts and tummy

Don't call me cannibal
Everybody needs from time to time
To remember the fact that they're an animal
To cross the line dividing clean from dirty
I ate her like a plate of hot spaghetti

I ate a girl right up, forgive me
I don't know what to say or what came over me
It wasn't just because I was hungry
I'd do it all again, it was yummy

Don't call me cannibal
Everybody needs from time to time
To nibble someone's earlobes and their eyes as well
To scoop them out and swallow them
Like oysters from the shell

I never knew how messy a girl could be
I guzzled down her body juices greedily
I was happy as a pig in a muck
I ate a girl right up

Michelin Man

Pump, pump it up
Pump it up if ever it goes limp
Dress in crepe, dress up in silk
Pump it up, cos when he's hard and when he's big

He's the Michelin Man
Made of rubber
The Michelin Man
Josephine Baker
Make him Zeppelin big
On your bicycle pump
And he'll bump you till your bed's just junk
So pump the Michelin Man
Pump the Michelin Man up

Honey bunch dress it up
Dress it up and you can pump him up
Put a boob tube round your bust
Pump it up, he'll slam it up your dress

He's the Michelin Man
Made of rubber
The Michelin Man
Josephine Baker
See his extra white teeth
His extra big rump
He's gonna bump you till your bed's just junk
So pump the Michelin Man
Pump the Michelin Man up

Marquis of Sadness

They've announced the new writer in residence
They've announced his name
But we'll call him Marquis of Sadness
The professors say he's sad
He's the leading light of the Bitterati
But we will invite him to our party

I'll get along quite nicely in this university
In my little office with its sofa and its key
They'll call on me at all hours for gin and sympathy
Bringing bad but intimate poetry

They've announced the new writer in residence
And the cleverest girls in the arts faculty
Must read poetry in his presence
And if our poems are bad
They'll still be evidence
Of our desire to make him desire us

I'll get along quite nicely in this university
In my little office with its sofa and its key
They'll call on me at all hours for gin and sympathy
Bringing bad but intimate poetry
Bad but intimate poetry

They've announced the new writer in residence
We've read all his books
And now we're longing for his presence
And the more he tells us we're bad
It might sound strange but in our madness
The more we'll fall in love with the Marquis of Sadness

Marquis of Sadness
Bad but intimate

Bluestocking

I love you, you're so well read
Blue stockings well spread
Your carnal knowledge knocks me dead

I love you, you're so well read
Blue stocking give head
I love you, you've read:

Ovid, Anais Nin, the Song of Solomon, The Perfumed Garden and Georges Bataille's The Story of the Eye
The Petronius Satyricon, the Arabian Nights, the Decameron
The Marquis de Sade's 120 Days
And Serge Gainsbourg singing songs to Sweet Jane B

I love you, you've read:

Sacher Masoch and DHL
Portnoy's Complaint and mine as well
Frank Harris, The Life and Loves
Lusts of a Moron, Wings of a Dove
The Latins of the Silver Age
The triolets of Paul Verlaine
Lautreamont and G. Cabrera Infante
Mishima Yukio and Sweet Jane B

I love you, you're so well read
Blue stocking give head
Whisper what they said:

'Le silence de la chambre est profond
Aucun bruit n'arrive plus
Ni des routes, ni de la ville, ni de la mere
La nuit est a son terme, partout limpide et noir
La lune a disparu
Ils ont peur
Il ecoute, les yeux au sol
Son silence effrayante
Il parle de sa beaute
Les yeux fermees
Il peut revoir encore l'image dans sa perfection'

Ventriloquists and Dolls

The music hall is dark, the city lies in silence
Traffic lights are changing in the distance
The radio plays Brahms
Opening the door of his Fiesta the ventriloquist
Steps out into the air beneath the stars
Rubs his hands against the frost
And tucks the dummy in her case beneath his arm

Ventriloquists and dolls
Tailors and their dummies
Moving in parallel worlds
Like wolves and little girls
Gangsters and their molls
Ventriloquists and dolls

And slowly on his painful wooden leg the ventriloquist
Clumps up the wooden steps towards his flat
A single room filled up with mannequins
And dangling from the beams on tangled strings, a marionette
And his carving's been so painstaking it looks for all the world
Like flesh and blood
Realistic to a fault, his dolls are portraits carved in wood
Of little girls

And opening the bottle with his teeth
He pours the beer into the beerglass on the bed
Drinks it at a gulp, brings up the gas
Takes off his pants, unscrews his wooden leg
And though his face is frighteningly ugly and he takes her by surprise and very fast
The doll he crushes under him immediately agrees to everything he asks

The Painter And His Model

What will I use to reproduce this cotton dress on canvas?
Strips from this abandoned cotton dress
And what will I use to reproduce the fabric of these panties?
Shreds from these discarded underclothes
And what will I use to reproduce this little pink mouth
With lips but no teeth
Lips but no teeth

The painter and his model, the girl
The theatre and its double, the world

Only the perfect medium can reproduce the beauty
Of eyes and lips and flesh and teeth and hair
Only the best materials can capture these feelings
For eyes and lips and flesh and teeth and hair
The ultimate unity of fingers, brush and breast
Feel my fingers brush your breast

The painter and his model, the girl
The theatre and its double, the world

A Monkey For Sallie

I bought a monkey for Sallie
And let it run amok
I bought a monkey for Sallie
It listens to hard rock

It gobbles up our food
Messily
Scribbles on the walls
And especially
Plays with itself
From dawn to dusk
From dusk to the crack of dawn
I bought a monkey for Sallie
Wicked as the day is long

I bought a monkey for Sallie
And let it run amok
It jumps into our bed at night
And fiddles with my cock
Its tail is long and feathery
It swings from the lights
Drinks heavily
And plays with itself
From dawn to dusk
From dusk to the crack of dawn
I bought a monkey for Sallie
Wicked as the day is long

I bought a monkey for Sallie
It's messing up our lives
It plays the barrel organ
And sharpens kitchen knives
I've never seen such lively curiosity
The way it paws at Sallie
And invariably
Plays with itself
From dawn to dusk
From dusk to the crack of dawn
I bought a monkey for Sallie
Wicked as the day is long

Pornography
It's just the stuff of every young girl's dreams
Just a young girl's diary
Rendered into photography
It's just the body
Are you scared of the body
Are you scared of me?

You don't have to touch
To feel this fabulous thing
You don't have to touch
To feel the pang
(Poo poo pi doo)
You don't need feelings
To feel this feeling
You don't need much
To touch the sky

Song In Contravention

Song giving descriptions of an unnamed act of love
The court will call this song Exhibit A
Song including details of the persons taking part
And the actual words these persons say

Song in contravention of sections of the law
Members of the jury take your time
Remember even listening if only this far in
Already makes you guilty of a crime

This love in contravention
They see fit to ban
That woman feels for woman, man for man
This love outside the law is the strongest love of all
Pass it on
To sing this song is a crime of love
Sing this song

Song giving descriptions of an unnamed act of love
Outlawed by the government this year
A song giving descriptions of forbidden forms of love
Is passing at this moment through your ear

Song in contravention of sections of the law
That deal with making public private thoughts
With lyrics so explicit and descriptions so perverse
They constitute the crime that it reports

In the perfumed garden the apprentice sits alone
Like a Persian miniature in stone
The jury and the witnesses are kneeling at the throne
Waiting for the judgement to come down

Song giving descriptions of an unnamed act of love
An act of love is taking place
Sung with your consent, the song has reached its very end
The prosecution rests its case
